The Project Coordinator will provide support to the IBC Management Committee for the implementation of IBC projects and activities, particularly the CEPF 114048 «Building resilience to climate change on ecosystems and species by rehabilitating islands of Sainte Anne Marine National Park (SAMNP)». It involves both administrative and technical tasks. The IBC Centre is managed by IBC, an NGO associated to the University of Seychelles.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR PROJECT COORDINATOR
1.GENERAL JOB SPECIFICATION: PROJECT Coordinator
1.1 OBJECTIVE
The Project Coordinator is providing support to the IBC Management Committee for the implementation of the IBC projects, particularly the CEPF 114048 «Building resilience to climate change on ecosystems and species by rehabilitating islands of Sainte Anne Marine National Park (SAMNP)». It involves both administrative and technical tasks.
1.2 ACTIVITIES OF THE PROJECT OFFICER
- Plan, manage, coordinate, and supervise project activities.
- Implement project activities with project staff and assistance from the Science Director when required.
- Manage up-to-date project accounts/finances
- Prepare project communication, activity reports and field training.
- Contribute to reports to be submitted to CEPF.
2. TYPE OF CONTRACT
A fixed-term contract for up to 31st of December 2026 with the possibility of extending it if funding is secured (full time or 4 days a week)
3. DURATION AND TIMELINE
The main assignment is expected to take place from 13th of April to 31st of December.
4. RESPONSIBILITY
The Project Coordinator is responsible to the IBC Management Committee & the CEPF coordinating team.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- University Degree in Botany, Zoology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or other related fields;
- Experience in project, time, and staff management;
- Experience in undertaking field inventories, assessments, monitoring, and/or other ecological oriented fieldwork;
- Skills and experience in biodiversity data collection, management, and analysis;
- Excellent reporting skills;
- Fluent written and oral communication in English, with fluency in Creole and French also desirable;
- Ability to work autonomously, i.e., without daily supervision;
- Ability to conduct intensive field work for short periods in islands with very basic conditions.
