Job Description
Job Summary:
A Public Prosecutor works under the direction of, and reports to, the Chief Public Prosecutor. He or she is required to respond whenever necessary to the Attorney General or the Principal State Counsel, Criminal Prosecution.
The principal duties and tasks are:-
- Review and evaluate case files and reports of criminal offences that enforcement agencies (Police, Fair Trading Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, Public Health Authority etc …) submit to the Attorney General for institution of criminal proceedings;
- Prepare criminal complaints and charges to institute criminal proceedings against offenders;
- Appear before the Magistrate’s Court, Juvenile Court and any Tribunal to conduct criminal proceedings against offenders;
- Conduct incidental proceedings to the principal criminal proceedings (application for remand of suspects or accused persons in custody and defend applications for bail)
- Perform legal research in relation to the criminal proceedings (and the incidental proceedings);
- Deal with any request for mutual assistance in criminal matters;
- Conduct any proceedings in relation to a request for mutual assistance in criminal matters;
- Advise enforcement agencies with regard to investigation of criminal offences (as and when requested by the Attorney General or the Principal State Counsel, Criminal Prosecution);
- Attend training and workshops;
- Maintain and periodically submits status of work report;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Public Prosecutor, Principal State Counsel, Criminal Prosecution or the Attorney General.

Job Requirement
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma in Law related field (Law/Law Studies/Legal Studies etc..) or related field; or
- A level in English plus three years’ work experience in legal related field.
- Must portray discipline and dedication to the job in general
- Must be capable to work odd hours whenever required
