Job Description
Job Summary
- Communicate the strategic vision and plan of the Commission to the public and employees;
- Act as the focal person for the Commission’s public relations activities;
- In liaison with the Heads of Departments, draft and prepare speeches, press releases, news, articles and other communications;
- Prepare content and manage the Commission’s social media platforms i.e. Facebook, Instagram..
- Prepare, facilitate and coordinate PR and Communication programmes for the Commission;
- Contribute to the planning and organizing of official events;
- Ensure high quality media coverage for the Commission;
- Maintain good relationship with the public, media and stakeholders;
- Liaise and maintain the collaborative partnerships/ networks with relevant agencies / groups/ organizations such as COMESA, SADC, UNCTAD, OECD etc.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, in line with the position.
CORE WORKING HOURS: 8am to 4pm, however, the post holder may be required to work during non-core hours in special circumstances.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Public Relation or relevant field OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relation or relevant field.
Preferable Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to show initiative and work proactively.
- Ability to work without supervision and with professionalism.
- Ability to plan, multi-task and make optimum use of resources.
- Proficient use of Microsoft and PR tools such as Canva.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
