Antigone Bookshop & Souvenir, located at the Seychelles International Airport is searching for an energetic and customer service-oriented Retail Salesperson to join our team. With us, you’ll share with customers your passion for and knowledge of books to find the perfect read while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for readers . Positions for Full Time Retail Sales Persons for Shift Hours

48 Hour Week or 8 hour Per Day Shifts . [ This is working 6 days per week with one day off ]

Must be able to work between the hours of 6.00am to 10.00pm on both Weekdays and Weekends and Public Holidays.

Shift One 6.00am to 2.00pm [8 WORKING HOURS]

Shift Two 2.00pm to 10.00pm [8 WORKING HOURS]

Probation is 6 months. Starting Salary SR8500 per month.

If you work on a Holiday [ Sunday]  and Public Holiday you are entitled to an alternative holiday.

 

Job Responsibilities

Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner

Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to merchandise, sales, promotions and store policy

Provide recommendations based on customer’s stated preferences, needs and desires

Create a warm and cozy atmosphere for our guests in accordance with the vision of the store by acting in a welcoming and approachable manner during customer interactions

Operate a cash register and perform related tasks, including cash handling, credit card processing and opening and closing of the register when on the first or last shift of the day

Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management and participate in the designing of displays in windows and on tables

Locate merchandise for customers, placing special orders to find desired items if necessary

Inventory Management _ Received goods and cross-check on transfer order or inventory transfers that the quantities and product is correct, alerting management on any errors, omissions, discrepancies, or oversupply.

Job Skills & Qualifications Required:

Friendly, outgoing with a strong commitment to customer service

Ability to express oneself clearly when making sales

Calm, professional demeanour even when confronted by discourteous customers

Fluent in English and French

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 9kilos

Must be willing to clean and tidy the shop.

Must always arrive on time .

Preferred:

Previous experience operating a cash register

Demonstrated interest in literature is a plus

Living in the region of  Cascade, Petit Paris, Anse Aux Pin , Au Cap is preferable  because transportation on completion of Evening Shift is provided  to these areas ONLY.
