Job Description
A prospective company currently awaiting its licence from the Central Bank is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Risk & Compliance Officer to join our team of professionals.
The role will be essential in ensuring that our operations comply with legal standards and internal policies, playing a key part in protecting the company’s reputation.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to the company’s operations, including financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Monitor and ensure that all agreements and operations adhere to legal, regulatory and industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes to laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review and update policies regularly to reflect changes in laws and industry standards and ensure the policies are communicated effectively and adhered to by all employees.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and recommend corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
- Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards, and address findings.
- Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to senior management and, when required, to regulatory bodies.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and external auditors.
- Collaborate with legal, HR, and other departments to address compliance issues.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in law/finance/business administration or in any similar field is acceptable.
- ICA Certification is a requirement.
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in compliance, legal, audit, or related roles.
- Experience in the banking sector is a plus.
