Inter Island Boats Ltd Catcocos is seeking to recruit honest, reliable, confident and highly vigilant Security Officers to join its Security Team. The successful candidates must possess a strong sense of integrity, demonstrate sound judgement under pressure and be capable of preventing, deterring and responding to security threats without hesitation. They will be responsible for conducting continuous patrols of company premises, including coastal and waterfront areas, to safeguard company property, berthed vessels, employees, passengers, cargo, and other assets against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, sabotage or any other security risks.

Job Description

Summary of the duties and responsibilities.

• Ensure the safety and security of the Company’s offices, terminals, vessels, passengers, crew, cargo, staff, visitors and all company assets.
• Conduct regular patrols of company premises, including waterfront and coastal areas, to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism and sabotage.
• Provide security for berthed vessels and respond promptly to any security threats or suspicious activities.
• Control crowds and maintain order during passenger embarkation, disembarkation and cargo loading and unloading operations.
• Patrol vessels during transit to ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew members and company property.
• Detect, prevent and report fraudulent transactions, fraudulent tickets and other security breaches.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents and accidents and complete accurate incident reports while promptly notifying the Captain or Manager on Duty.
• Enforce company security policies and procedures and assist law enforcement or emergency services when required.
• Carry and use approved personal protective or defensive equipment where authorized.
• Perform any other security-related duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• At least post-secondary level of education or equivalent.
• Recognised certification or formal training in Security Operations or a related security discipline.

Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years continuous satisfactory post qualification experience in a security role, preferably within the maritime, transport, hospitality or a related industry.

Knowledge, Skills And Competences

• Sound knowledge of security operations, access control, surveillance, incident reporting and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent observation, surveillance and risk assessment skills.
• Proven ability to remain calm, decisive and confident when responding to emergencies and challenging situations.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking prolonged patrol duties, including night shifts and outdoor assignments.
• High level of honesty, integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and French.
• Strong customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and extended hours as operationally required.
