African Risk Transfer (ART) is seeking a dynamic, technically skilled, and client-focused Senior Broker to join our Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a niche team working across Seychelles to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director. The Senior broker plays a critical role in maintaining and growing ART’s book. You will manage relationships with clients and insurers.
Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Technical Broking & Relationship Management
- Lead client engagements, perform in-depth needs analysis, and design tailored insurance solutions.
- Negotiate coverage and pricing with insurers and manage insurer relationships.
- Oversee VIP client accounts, ensuring market-leading service and high retention.
- Prepare proposals, comparisons, summaries, and templates to drive operational efficiencies.
- Contribute to product innovation and wording development to position ART as a market leader.
- Administration & Credit Control
- Ensure compliance with KYC and regulatory requirements.
- Handover policies accurately to administrative teams for processing.
- Drive debt collection processes and ensure timely premium receipts.
- Maintain regulatory file standards and liaise with finance on outstanding accounts.
- Claims Support
- Assist with policy interpretation and claims strategy.
- Ensure that claim learnings feed back into future policy development.
- Marketing & Business Development
- Identify and engage prospective clients and markets.
- Represent ART at industry events and contribute to marketing content.
- Uphold ART’s brand and communication standards in all client interactions.
- Leadership & Team Culture
- Lead by example through punctuality, professionalism, and work ethic.
- Mentor and grow junior team members, conducting performance reviews and identifying training opportunities.
- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For
- Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant insurance qualifications with strong technical expertise.
- Proven experience in credit risk, political risk, and structured insurance solutions.
- Deep understanding of the African insurance market.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Personal Attributes
- Professional, reliable, and self-driven.
- Strong attention to detail and high accountability.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Fluency in English (French is advantageous).
