Job Description
Job Overview:
The Senior Human Resources Officer will support the HR department in managing a range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and HR compliance. The role will involve liaising with both management and staff to ensure the smooth implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and managing candidate communication.
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including conducting orientations and ensuring all paperwork and legal requirements are completed.
- Maintain and update the recruitment pipeline and job postings to attract qualified candidates.
- Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related queries, addressing concerns, and providing support.
- Help foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement initiatives and resolving employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in conducting employee satisfaction surveys and report findings to management, suggesting improvements as necessary.
- Performance Management & Development:
- Support the performance management process, ensuring that performance appraisals are completed on time and that development plans are in place.
- Assist in organizing training and development programs to enhance employee skills and improve performance across the organization.
- Track employee training needs and help coordinate internal and external training sessions.
- Compensation & Benefits Administration:
- Assist in administering the company’s compensation and benefits programs, ensuring that employees are informed about available benefits.
- Help process salary adjustments, promotions, and bonuses in alignment with company policies.
- Maintain employee records related to compensation, benefits, and other HR-related data.
- HR Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies by maintaining accurate records of employee documentation and employment history.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports, such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and employee headcount, to provide valuable insights to management.
- Help ensure that employee data is managed confidentially and in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Employee Wellness & Health & Safety:
- Support health and safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Help coordinate wellness programs and promote work-life balance initiatives to improve employee well-being.
- HR Administration:
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing HR documentation, maintaining employee files, and organizing HR-related meetings.
- Ensure that HR policies and procedures are updated and communicated effectively across the organization.
- Manage the HR database, ensuring employee information is up-to-date and accessible.
- Other HR Projects and Duties:
- Assist in various HR projects, such as employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and HR initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience.
- Provide support during audits or HR reviews as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education:
- Professional HR certifications (such as SHRM-CP, CIPD, or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training.
- Prior experience in a senior HR role within a corporate or operational environment is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and general office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Successful recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Employee engagement and satisfaction scores.
- Timeliness and accuracy in performance appraisals and development plans.
- Effective administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, office-based role.
- May require occasional travel for recruitment, training, or other HR-related activities.
