Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior IT Officer is responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of IT systems. The role includes maintaining networks, servers, hardware, and software, as well as providing high-level technical support and leading IT projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Manage user support requests and ensure timely resolution of IT helpdesk tickets.
- Assist in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Supervise and support junior IT staff and helpdesk personnel.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT equipment and services.
- Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data.
- Manage and support cloud-based services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
- Participate in budgeting and planning for IT expenditures and projects.
- Stay current with technological developments and recommend upgrades or improvements.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and security.
- Experience with servers, virtualization, firewalls, and backup systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, and remote support solutions.
