Senior Legal Officer
Job Description
The Senior Legal Officer provides legal oversight and advisory support across the FIU, ensuring compliance with applicable legal frameworks, including AML/CFT obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. The role includes delivering legal advice, managing litigation and appeals, and supporting risk management, legislative review, and policy development aligned with the FIU’s mandate. The Senior Legal Officer is also responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, MOUs, and internal policies, contributing to legal strategy and stakeholder engagement, monitoring legal developments, and representing the FIU in relevant forums and engagements with national and international partners.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Successful completion of the Bar Examination
- Minimum of three (3) years’ legal experience
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent legal drafting and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks and regulatory compliance
