Job Title: Senior Monitoring Officer
Department: Monitoring Control and Surveillance
Responsible To: Assistant Manager – Monitoring
Job Description
Summary of Duties
Oversee the daily duties of the Monitoring Officers. Ensure that they are undertaking their tasks within given timeline and schedule. To actively participate in the daily monitoring of fishing vessel. Collect, compile, analyse and report on fishing effort data. Acknowledge, verify, and approve port entry requests, license applications and transshipments (at sea or in port). Assist other national agencies in fisheries related operations such as patrols, IUU interception and other activities as required by such agencies. Perform other duties as authorized fisheries officer in accordance to the Seychelles Fisheries Act.

Job Requirements
Education (Special Knowledge)/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Law, Fisheries Management or related field and two years working Experience in similar field
- A Level in English, French, Geography, Law with 2 years or more working experience as Monitoring Officer, or 3 years in similar field
OR
- 5 years’ working experience as a Monitoring Officer.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Background or experience with GIS a plus
- Proven experience in the public relations field and minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
