The National Bureau of Statistics invites potential and motivated candidates who wish to pursue a career in Statistics to apply for the following position:

Senior Statistical Assistant (1 post)

Job Description

Main Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist with and supervise data collection from households and establishments through the administration of questionnaires and schedules
• Check questionnaires and schedules from the field and from administrative records for inconsistencies and errors and have these rectified where necessary
• Provide general public and other users with information from publications
• Coordinate field work under supervision of senior officer

Job Requirements

Recognized qualifications and requirements:

• A level certificate in Mathematics and English with a grade C or above or a relevant Advanced Certificate

Or

• IGCSE certificate plus at least two years satisfactory work experience

Other requirements:

• Competence in the use of MS Office Software package and in particular Excel and Word
• Good communication and report writing skills
• Proficiency in English – a good command of the language (written and oral)
