Job Title: Senior Store Officer
Section: Store Supplies and Management
Responsible to: Stores Manager
Job Description
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Main duties involve the management function of directly supervising all store staff on the warehouse floor and delegate duties accordingly.
- Ensure strict internal control
- Prepare requisitions for stock replenishment
- Monitors stock to prevent over usage and wastage
- Ensure stock segregation eg dangerous goods, Hazardous goods to mitigate losses due to harmful inhalation, accidents etc
- Ensure cleanliness of stores at all times and arrange schedule for cleaning and pest control
- Responsible for the daily operational activities within the warehouse such as safety of employees, working condition and adherence to store protocols
- Receiving and attending to orders from all cost centres
- Store pharmaceutical products appropriately, separating hazard from non hazard
- Checking that all orders are correct according to orders placed.
- Ensuring that all inventory control Measures are being implemented eg Expiry checks, correct coding of stock items, stock rotation
- Responsible for safe disposal of expired products and ensuring that all damaged and expired stock are removed from the shelves.
- Handling complaints /queries from cost Centers and rectify accordingly.
- Keep records and compiles stock reports for MOH and community clinics
- Responsible to ensure safe delivery of products to clinics(accompany driver during delivery)
- Ensure that appropriate procedures are followed when undertaking orders eg Cold chain products
- Replacing The role of Stores manager during his absence eg. Supervises junior staff and handling the daily staff scheduling.
- Carry out overtime duties from time-to-time eg to attend to urgent orders on request, or in the event that an important consignment arrives
- Responsible for opening and closing the store at the beginning and ending of each day as and when required
- Assist in the monitoring of incubation/temperature of vaccines in the chillers
- Act as officer in charge whenever the presence of the Manager is not available

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONAND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years working experience with Pharmaceutical/ medical consumables products
- Must have the knowledge and ability to supervise staff
- Good working relationship with heads of HCA to ensure smooth transition with procurement, transport and logistics
- Knowledge and ability to train people
- Knowledge in store operations
- Must have good communication skills both oral and written
- Knowledge in basic accounting or bookkeeping
- Must be courteous to Clients/customers
- Able to Use computer program eg Excel and word processing
- Certificate /Diploma in bookkeeping/ stores management and at least 3 years’ experience as Stores Officer
