Duties and Responsibilities

As Skipper, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:

  • Provide safety briefings to clients pointing out safety equipment and its proper use prior to getting the vessel underway.
  • Steer and operate vessels, using radios, depth finders, radars, lights, buoys, and lighthouses.
  • Compute positions, set courses, and determine speeds, by using charts, area plotting sheets, compasses, sextants, and knowledge of local conditions.
  • Inspect vessels to ensure efficient and safe operation of vessels and equipment, and conformance to regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate crew members or hosts performing activities such as loading and unloading cargo, steering vessels, operating engines, and operating, maintaining, and repairing ship equipment.
  • Monitor the loading and discharging of cargo or passengers.
  • Maintain boats and equipment on board, complete daily engine checks.
  • Upkeep Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded.
  • Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments.

Job Requirement


To execute the position of Boat Driver, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

  • Yacht Master or equivalent, or the minimum of Day Skipper or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.
  • Technical skills include more than two years of captain experience with 200 hours night sailing. Knowledge on navigation charts and computer positions, using standard navigation aids, such as compass, sextant, clock, radio fix, and navigation tables and the ability to steers vessel and operate electronic equipment, such as radio, sonic depth finder, and radar.
  • Fluent in English;
