Job Description
Purpose:
The Spare Parts Warehouse Keeper is responsible for performing all warehouse activities related to the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of spare parts required for maintenance operations. The role ensures timely delivery of requested parts according to approved Maintenance Work Orders (MWOs), supports accurate inventory control, and provides continuous operational support. Spare Parts warehouse Storekeepers work on rotating shifts and report directly to the Spare Parts Warehouse Supervisor.
Top Accountabilities
- Spare Parts Issuance & Fulfilment
- Verify spare parts requests against authorized Maintenance Work Orders.
- Pick, pack, and deliver spare parts promptly and accurately to maintenance teams.
- Register all material issuance transactions in the ERP/CMMS system.
- Warehouse Operations
- Receive and inspect incoming spare parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Organize and store materials following established labeling and preservation methods.\Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to the Spare Parts Warehouse Supervisor
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts.
- Documentation & System Transactions
- Record accurate stock movements (issues, returns, transfers).
- Maintain documentation such as delivery notes, inspection forms, and return slips.
- Support data accuracy in the Warehouse Management System.
- Compliance & Quality
- Follow site safety standards, PPE rules, and 5S practices.
- Report non-conforming or damaged parts to the Spare Parts Warehouse Supervisor.
- Ensure correct storage conditions for sensitive technical materials.
- Coordination & Shift Handover
- Coordinate with Maintenance Planners, Supervisors, and Technicians regarding parts requirements.
- Provide detailed shift handover notes with pending issues or urgent requests.
- Escalate operational concerns to the Spare Parts Warehouse Supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualifications + Experience
- Post secondary Diploma or Technical training preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse or spare parts roles.
- Experience with ERP/WMS/CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Oracle) is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and consumable spare parts.
- Ability to read maintenance work orders and part descriptions.
- Strong counting and data-entry accuracy.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure during urgent maintenance operations.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to lift and move materials (heavy)
- Comfortable working in typical warehouse environments.
- Capable of standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
