Job Title: Stock Control Manager
Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Stock Control Manager. The Stock Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of all inventory management processes. This role involves supervising stock movements, implementing and improving inventory control systems, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and sales teams to maintain optimal stock levels. The position requires a balance of hands-on supervision of stock control operations and the strategic development of processes to minimize losses, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Inventory Management & Control
- Oversee daily stock movements within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Maintain precise inventory records, verifying that stock levels meet demand and supply forecasts.
- Supervise the Goods Received Note (GRN) process, ensuring that received stock matches purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Enforce correct labeling, storage, and rotation of stock to minimize damage, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with purchasing to manage reorder points and avoid shortages or overstocking.
Stock Audits & Accuracy
- Conduct regular cycle counts, stock takes, and scheduled or surprise audits.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies promptly, liaising with relevant teams.
- Prepare and analyze variance and discrepancy reports, identifying patterns and implementing corrective actions.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stock management.
- Monitor shrinkage, damages, and obsolete inventory, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, stock control procedures, and health and safety standards.
Team Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise and guide stock control staff, setting clear objectives and expectations.
- Provide training on stock handling, inventory systems, and safety practices.
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth stock operations and accurate availability information.
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the team.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and analyze regular inventory reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Present audit findings, stock level updates, and recommendations to management.
- Use inventory management systems to monitor stock flow and support data-driven decision-making.

Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance standards within warehouse environments.
