The National Sports Council is looking for a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the position of System Support Manager.

As the System Support Manager you will oversee overall management of the system support activities of NSC. Ensure the security of equipment, programs, data, backups and other computer related accessories. Maintain and up-keep of hardware and software.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the IT support team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to measure team effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software issues for end-users.
  • Ensure timely and efficient handling of support requests and incidents.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of support processes, solutions, and system configurations.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement regular updates, patches, and upgrades to hardware and software.
  • Identify and resolve system performance issues and recommend improvements.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate procurement and inventory management of IT equipment and services.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their IT needs and ensure the support team meets those needs.
  • Develop and execute IT support strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Assess and recommend new technologies to enhance support services.
  • Prepare and manage the IT support budget.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect against data breaches and cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure system integrity and compliance. Lead IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

Job Requirement

Minimum Requirements & other pre requisite:

  • First Degree in a Computer Science or related field plus three years relevant and satisfactory experience;

or

  • HND in a Computer Science related field plus at least four years relevant and satisfactory experience;

or

  • Three years’ experience as a Senior System Support Officer
