Technical Sales Assistant

Job Description

Are you hands-on, customer-focused, and passionate about all things DIY and home improvement? Join our busy floor team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience. Your aim would be to provide outstanding service, build genuine connections, and ensure every customer leaves the store feeling valued.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Offer friendly, knowledgeable advice on tools, materials, and all DIY products.
• Support customers in finding the right solutions for their projects.
• Demonstrate products and explain technical features clearly and confidently.
• Maintain stocked, well-presented and correctly priced shelves and displays.
• Assist with warehouse control, deliveries, receiving, stock checks, and general store upkeep.
• Prepare quotations and invoices as required.
• Work closely with the team to deliver excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

Profile:

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Keen interest or experience in DIY, construction, tools, or home improvement
• Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset
• Practical problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Reliable, friendly, and a great team player
• Proficient in Microsoft and ERP systems

Qualifications

• Diploma in Customer Service/Business Administration/Sales
• Minimum 5 years experience in the retail or similar industry
• Valid Class 2 and preferably 4 Driver’s Licence
