Post Title: Technician – Fraud Unit
Division: Commercial and Customer Services
Job Description
Summary of Duties
- Assist in field inspections to identify meter tampering or unauthorized connections
- Disconnect/reconnect electricity supply as instructed
- Replace or assist in replacing faulty or tampered meters
- Document and report irregularities, damaged installations, or obstacles to meter access
- Support the Manager in meter testing and verification activities • Help gather field evidence (e.g., photos, notes) for suspected fraud cases
- Liaise with customers during site visits.
- Ensure that all assigned tools and safety equipment are properly used and maintained
- Keep proper records of daily tasks, site visits, and interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe company’s policies and safety protocols at all times
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- SIT Certificate in Electrical
- At least 2 years as a Meter Reader or Disconnection Technician
- Basic knowledge of meters and safety practices
- Must have basic mathematical skills
- Must have good command of English written and verbal
- Must have good reporting skills
Desirable
- Must be customer oriented with good communication skills
- Must possess a valid driving license of class 2
- Must be conversant with Microsoft Office and other software program relevant to your work
- Must be conversant with the Company’s procedures and processes
- Must have high level of confidentiality
- General understanding of operational procedures for the Meter Reading and Fraud Unit

- Must have the ability to work under pressure

- Must have the ability to manage own workload and effectively manage time
