Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and articulate individual to join our growing team as Trainee Compliance Officer and Administrative Assistant. The Trainee Compliance Officer and Administrative Assistant will have the opportunity to be trained by experienced professionals, to tackle complex compliance related matters including but not limited to customer onboarding, remediation and statutory submissions (both license and non-license related).
Upon completion of their training and proven aptitude for the role, the postholder will be expected to achieve fit and proper status with the Financial Services Authority and eventually undertake the role and responsibility of the Compliance Officer for Solid Oak Insurance PCC Limited in line with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Act 2020 and the Financial Services Authority Act, 2013, with other cross-functional administrative responsibilities within the group of companies.
Key Responsibilities
The Trainee Compliance Officer and Administrative Assistant’s relevant responsibilities will entail assisting the Compliance Officer and the senior management team with the following:
- Oversight and management of the workload across the members of the onboarding team, producing meaningful reporting around said workflow .
- Liaising with clients, internal departments and affiliates of Solid Oak to assist with compliance and corporate governance processes.
- Contributing towards the review and implementation of processes in alignment with statutory requirements, as may be applicable from time to time .
- Preparation and submission of statutory and compliance reporting including related administrative duties in this respect .
- Working with colleagues within the group of companies and undertaking cross-functional tasks as may be required.
- Ad hoc tasks relevant to the role.
The Trainee Compliance and Administrative Assistant will be required to demonstrate a holistic understanding of:
- The customer due diligence processes for onboarding, periodic review and trigger event review for individuals, companies, trusts, other legal entities and legal arrangements.
- The Company’s policies, procedures, and systems, based on a compliance framework and risk parameters, taking into consideration processes within the group.
- The Company’s legal and regulatory obligations and the processes to fulfill reporting requirements based on legal requirements and internal policies, including amendments thereto.
- Compliance training techniques and fostering a compliance culture within the Solid Oak team.
- Domestic and international business companies, client administration, including but not limited to statutory and company secretarial filings, meeting preparation and minute taking.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in law, finance, compliance, business administration or a related field;
- At least 5 years’ post qualification experience , preferably in a regulated, financial services environment.
- Knowledge and practical application of anti-money laundering and countering the financing or terrorism laws, regulations and guidelines .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and
- The ability to demonstrate continued professional development.
