Job Description
Position Summary
A waiter is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. Have good knowledge about the menu, ensure customers’ needs are met promptly, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Handle payments and assist in resolving any customer issues or concerns.
- Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they arrive, guide them to their tables, and provide menus.
- Take food and beverage orders from customers and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and professional manner.
- Address customer needs, offer recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Present customers with their bills and process payments through cash or card transactions.
- Keep the dining area clean by clearing empty plates, glasses, and utensils from tables.
- Set up tables before guests arrive, including arranging utensils, condiments, and napkins.
- Check in with customers during their meal to ensure they have everything they need.
- Communicate orders effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and serving.
- Ensure that all food handling, hygiene, and safety standards are always adhered to.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to carry heavy trays and stand for long periods.
- Prior experience in the food service industry preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexible to work shift as well as weekend and public holidays.
