Job Description
Summary of DutiesÂ
- Operate Water treatment plants
- Maintain and control intake, sedimentation tank and reservoir levels
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of meter readings, water, residual chlorine, turbidity and pH levels
- Make regular physical inspections of the plant on an hourly or semi-hourly basis by walking around the plant and observing the performance of each piece of equipment
- Monitor and record chemical quantity in use
- Check the condition of plant equipment, carrying out minor repairs to equipment, and/or reporting major faults to engineers
- Follow standard instructions with regards to sampling and monitoring
- Report any problem quickly to the supervisor and ensure that all follow up steps are taken and recorded
- Keep water treatment plant clean
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Completion of Secondary 5 level of education
Attributes & Skills
- Good practical skills and physical fitness
- The ability to follow detailed instructions
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
- The ability to cope with chemical substances and odours
- Willingness to work unsocial hours
- Awareness of health and safety
