Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Lecturer – Agriculture, Engineering, and Irrigation Technology is responsible for delivering theoretical and practical instruction in agricultural engineering and irrigation technologies. The position supports capacity building, applied learning, and the development of technically skilled graduates aligned with SIAH’s mandate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and field-based training in agriculture, engineering, and irrigation technology.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools in line with approved curricula.
- Supervise student practical work, projects, and applied learning activities.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement.
- Engage in research development, research planning, and applied studies relevant to the discipline.
- Apply basic statistical methods and software for academic and research purposes.
- Prepare academic reports and submit them to the Deputy Director – Studies and Curriculum.
- Maintain updated records.
- Any other duties as stipulated by the Deputy Director – Studies and Curriculum
Benefits
Salary band: Band 5 – Band 6
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Agriculture, or a closely related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lecturer or in an equivalent teaching position.
Additional Advantages
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical software such as SPSS and MINITAB.
- Experience in research development and academic planning.
