Job Description

Job Summary:

Perform journey level in installing, maintaining and repairing marine inboard and outboard gasoline engines and propulsion equipment. Maintain and repair fire pumps and other mechanical equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair marine gasoline and gas oil engines, outboards, pumps, transmissions, steering systems and other related equipment.
• Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of marine engines and equipment.
• Repair and maintenance of marine equipment including propellers, propeller shafts, rudders, reverse gears and winches.
• Overhauling and modifying marine gasoline engines and associated equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance and repair work.
• Perform custom modification to adapt new equipment to existing systems.
• Use various shop tools and test equipment.
• Diagnose electrical problems and determine proper repair method.
• Read, understand and follow oral instructions and written directives.

• Graduate of School of Maritime Studies
