Division/Section: Planning, Policy and Technology
Post Title: Policy Analyst
Responsible to: Principal Policy Analyst
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend and analyse policies and ensure implementation of clear policies and strategies for the Ministry and its agencies;
- As part of the policy formulation process, identify issues and carry out appropriate research;
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies; interpret and review these policies;
- Evaluate options and make recommendations for new policies;
- Ensure the alignment of related policies and regulations with other sector policies;
- Keep abreast with the development and implementation of national strategies and drafting of policies;
- Assist in the formulation of the Ministry’s strategic plan and participate in its implementation;
- Ensure the integration of regional and international requirements and obligations in relevant policies, strategies and legislations
- Maintain relationships with national and regional stakeholders in relation to the relevant sector’s development;
- Write and present reports to senior level officials and stakeholders at conferences, workshops, meetings and other events
- Represent the Ministry at meetings, conferences and workshops, both locally and overseas;
Be part of projects teams, as may be necessary, within the Ministry; - Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Principal Policy Analyst or, where appropriate, the Director General or Principal Secretary.
Benefits
Salary Band: SB 4 – SB 5
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Resource Management, Law, Business Administration or any related field plus two years’ relevant work experience or as an Assistant Policy Analyst;
OR - Master’s Degree in Economics, Resource Management, Law, Business Administration or any related field plus one-year relevant work experience;
