The Accounts Officer is responsible for supporting the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring that financial procedures are followed. The role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers to negotiate payment plans and resolve payment issues.
- Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and other written communication.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Generate regular reports on the status of outstanding debts and collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Invoice matching & supplier statement reconciliation.
- AP & Bank Reconciliation.
- Process and record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Prepare and issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing system.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2-5 years’ experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable & bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, VAT basics &
- Proficient in relevant computer software (MS Office, Sage, Quickbooks)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
