Job Description
Job Purpose
The Accounts Technician will carry out assigned duties related to accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and inventory functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare relevant accounting documents, such as purchase orders, payment vouchers, and cheques, for processing supplier payments.
- Ensure all invoices are correctly certified, and payments are properly authorised.
- Issue invoices to TGMI customers for training programmes and services.
- Manage revenue collection by preparing receipts, recording revenue, and depositing amounts into TGMI’s bank account in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain and update debtors’ ledgers, prepare monthly debtor listings, and perform follow-ups.
- Manage petty cash float.
- Prepare and process payroll amendments.
- Follow up on overdue payments in line with established procedures.
- Maintain all accounting books, ensuring accurate and up-to-date postings.
- Ensure proper registers are maintained for all accounting purposes.
- Handle work orders for improvements to transport, buildings, and equipment.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- Diploma in Accounting, Business Studies, or AAT Level 3 (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in using Accounting Software is essential.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting procedures.
