Job Description

The Assistant Pastry Chef supports the daily pastry and bakery operation, preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods. The role works closely with the Head Pastry Chef to maintain consistent quality, presentation, hygiene and service standards.

Main Tasks

• Prepare pastries, desserts, cakes, breads and other baked products.
• Support dessert menus, afternoon tea, buffet displays and special guest requests.
• Ensure consistent quality, taste and presentation of all pastry products.
• Support daily pastry production and mise en place.
• Guide and support junior pastry and bakery hosts.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and kitchen organisation.

Job Requirement

Requirements

• Formal pastry or culinary training preferred.
• Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in pastry, bakery, luxury hospitality or fine dining.
• Strong hands-on pastry, baking and dessert plating skills.
• Good knowledge of pâtisserie, breads, laminated doughs and chocolate work.
• Basic supervisory experience and ability to support junior hosts.
• Good English and ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, resort or fine dining environment preferred.
