Post Title: Assistant Procurement Analyst
Division: Procurement Oversight Unit
Responsible to: Director
Working Hours: Normal 0800hrs to 1600hrs
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist organization with no/limited human resources in the implementation of their procurement requirements
- Assist in implementing measures to improve the functioning of the procurement system, including the introduction of IT.
- Assist in Ensuring that the standard bidding documents contain all the necessary information necessary for a bidder to submit a bid.
- Vet the bidding documents and public notices submitted to it, to ensure compliance with the relevant laws regulations and policies.
- After vetting the bidding document, seek approval from the Director to authorize the procuring entity to call for bids or utilize other appropriate procurement method.
- Assist in ensuring that proper procurement procedures are followed by the Procuring Entities whenever there is a need for Procurement of Goods and Services, civil work, and consultancy services.
- Assist in the preparation of the agenda for the Central Procurement Committees ‘weekly meetings.
- Act as secretary on the Central Procurement Committees.
- Conduct visits in the various Procuring Entities to review the internal Procurement Systems and advice on the best way forward for their respective portfolios of MDAs.
- Assist the National Tender Board with Tender Opening on the inner islands as and when necessary

Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Diploma in Procurement/Business Studies/Accounting or relevant field; or
- Advanced Certificate in Procurement or A Level Grade D or higher with at least two years’ satisfactory work experience as an Assistant Procurement Officer; or
- Certificate in Procurement plus at least three years’ satisfactory work experience as an Assistant Procurement Officer
- O level or IGCSE grade C or higher plus at least four years’ satisfactory work experience as an Assistant Procurement Officer.
