Job Description
The Camp Supervisor/Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and upkeep of all staff accommodations under the Group. The role ensures that all facilities are safe, hygienic, and well-maintained, while promoting staff welfare and compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
This is a hands-on operational role, requiring active supervision of cleaning and maintenance teams, coordination of repairs, and direct involvement in welfare and hygiene improvement initiatives. The Camp Manager will also serve as the primary contact for new staff arrivals, ensuring smooth onboarding and suitable accommodation arrangements.
Accommodation Management
- Oversee the daily operations of all staff accommodations, ensuring cleanliness, order, and functionality.
- Conduct daily inspections of rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and external areas, reporting maintenance or hygiene concerns immediately.
- Enforce accommodation policies relating to cleanliness, discipline, curfews, and safety.
- Supervise and participate in cleaning and outdoor maintenance activities to set and maintain standards.
- Manage room allocations and occupancy lists in coordination with HR.
- Act as the point of contact for all new employees requiring accommodation, ensuring rooms are cleaned, prepared, and stocked before arrival.
Maintenance & Hygiene
- Supervise all internal and external maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Coordinate pest control, waste management, and landscaping maintenance schedules with the HSE Officer.
- Prepare and oversee cleaning and maintenance rotas for all accommodation locations.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are available, properly used, and safely stored.
- Liaise with procurement for requisitions of cleaning, hygiene, and maintenance supplies.
- Monitor utility usage (water, electricity, gas) and report excessive consumption or leaks.
Welfare & Compliance
- Work closely with the HR Officer and HSE Officer to ensure staff welfare and accommodation hygiene meet company and Public Health standards.
- Promote awareness on cleanliness, hygiene, and respectful cohabitation through regular briefings.
- Address staff welfare concerns, ensuring prompt reporting and follow-up on any disciplinary or welfare-related issues.
- Support inspections from HR, HSE, or Public Health authorities.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of staff occupancy, maintenance schedules, cleaning checklists, pest control logs, and inventory registers.
- Prepare weekly summary reports on camp condition, maintenance work, incidents, and compliance status for submission to the Group HR Manager.
- Conduct risk assessments for accommodation areas in collaboration with the HSE Officer.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills as per company HSE procedures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Certificate or Diploma in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, or Hospitality.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in camp, accommodation, or property management.
- Strong practical knowledge of cleaning standards, maintenance practices, and health & safety.
- Hands-on approach with strong leadership and supervisory ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good planning, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues promptly.
