Job Description
Reports To: Shop Manager
Position Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for handling transactions efficiently and accurately while providing a positive
customer experience at the point of sale.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate cash register and process all customer transactions.
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as needed.
- Maintain accuracy in transaction records and cash drawer.
- Greet and thank customers, answer product-related questions.
- Monitor customer behavior and report irregularities or theft.
- Assist with general cleaning and front-of-house organization.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Fast and accurate data entry.
- Customer-focused attitude.
- Basic numeracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashiering or retail experience preferred.
- RSA certification may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Shift-based role, including weekends and evenings.
- Standing for long periods; some repetitive tasks.
