The Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaption Trust (SeyCCAT) is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). You will steer an independent Trust dedicated to strategically investing in ocean stakeholders to generate new learning, bold action, and sustainable blue prosperity for the people of Seychelles. This is a unique opportunity to lead a globally recognized organization at the forefront of marine conservation and climate
adaption finance.
Key Responsibilities
The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall strategic and operational success of the Trust. Your role will encompass:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement and monitor’s SeyCCAT’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission to support conservation, climate adaption, and sustainable Blue Economy.
- Fundraising & Financial Stewardship: Oversee the Trust’s financial health, manage the endowment and grant fund, and lead efforts in identifying and securing new innovative financing and funding partnerships.
- Organisational Management: Lead and manage a dedicated team, fostering a culture of Trust, Transparency, Excellence, Innovation and Partnership (SeyCCAT’s core value).
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Act as the primary spokesperson for SeyCCAT, building and maintaining strong relationships with the Government of Seychelles, local and international partners, donors, and the public.
- Programme Oversight: Ensure the effective and compliant delivery of the Blue Grant Fund and other initiatives, measuring impact against key strategic objectives.
Qualification and Knowledge
- A Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field (Marine Science; Environmental Management; Finance; Business Administration; or Law).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within the NGO, conservation, finance, or public sectors.
- Proven track record in strategic financial management, including successful fundraising, budget oversight, and managing complex financial instruments.
- Demonstrated experiences in developing and managing high-performing teams and working effectively with a Board of Directors.
- Exceptional communication and representation skills in English and French, preferably also Creole.
We strongly encourage candidates who possess a deep understanding of Seychellois culture, socio-economic, and environmental context to apply. Preference will be given to suitably qualified Seychellois nationals.
The remuneration package will be based on the application’s qualification and experiences.
