Job Description

Job purpose:

To identify and diagnose mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression and behavioral issues in clients. To develop and implement treatment plans

Key outputs

1. Client needs assessed and evaluated
2. Mental behavioral and emotional disorders diagnosed
3. Personal and group interventions treated
4. Management plans developed and implemented
5. Client progress recorded, maintained and monitored
6. Clients referred to appropriate agencies
7. Crisis situations attended to promptly viii)Reports compiled and submitted timely
8. Clinical social work standards guidelines implemented

Key functions

1. Making assessments and interpretations based on biopsychosocial evaluations, psychometric tests, semi-structured interviews, therapy sessions and neuropsychological assessments.
2. Diagnosing mental behavioral and emotional disorders in accordance with diagnostic criteria and develop a treatment plan accordingly
3. Formulating and creating personalized interventions, treatments and management plans for clients.
4. Counseling clients helping them to gain access to various resources and helping clients lo confront issues that arc negatively affecting their way of living
5. Referring clients to other resources or services, such as support groups or other mental health professionals.
6. Providing and evaluating therapy to groups ru1d individuals using various evidence-based modalities
7. Collaborating with other healthcare providers to evaluate medical and physical condition of clients.
8. Updating and safe storage of accurate programs and client records, and all other pertinent documents.
9. Mentoring and supervising provisional psychologists
10. Effectively addressing emergencies of individuals and families
11. Compiling and submitting reports in a timely manner
12. Attending court proceeding in relation to their client as requested by the criminal justice system
13. Attending and participating in continuous professional development

Job Requirements

Person specifications

Qualification

• Must have a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
