Chelonia Company Limited is seeking to employ workers on fixed term contracts, to work on D’arros Island in the positions below:

Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation, washing dishware and equipment, and supporting culinary staff with daily operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Kitchen Sanitation & Maintenance

• Wash, sanitize, and dry all plates, glassware, flatware, and kitchen utensils.
• Scrub, sanitize, and store heavy-duty pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub kitchen floors, walls, and walk-in coolers.
• Empty garbage bins regularly, sort recyclables, and sanitize waste containers.

Inventory & Service Support

• Transport clean dishware and cutlery safely to the buffet lines, banquets, or restaurant stations.
• Organize and restock clean kitchenware in designated storage areas.
• Polish silverware, glassware, and chafing dishes as required for service.
• Assist in receiving and safely storing kitchen food deliveries or cleaning supplies.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all local food safety, health department, and workplace sanitation guidelines.
• Handle and dilute industrial cleaning chemicals safely using protective gear.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or safety hazards to the Chef.

Job Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma n Food Preparation plus 3-5 years related working  experience
• Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hotel environment is an asset but not required.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation procedures and safe chemical handling is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (8+ hours).
• Capability to lift and move heavy objects weighing up to 20 kg (approx. 45 lbs).
• Ability to work in hot, humid, and wet kitchen environments.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
