Job Description
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring that the licensee complies with its obligations with respect to the establishment and maintenance of compliance systems and controls;
- Identifying, measuring and assessing the compliance risks associated with the licensee’s business, including the compliance risks associated with the material changes in, or the development of new, products, types of business or customer relationships;
- Keeping the regulatory obligations of the licensee and the compliance systems and controls under review, identifying any deficiencies, making regular assessment reports to the board and senior management and making recommendations for any updates or revisions;
- Keeping the compliance manual under regular review and current;
- Maintaining a Licensee’s registers;
- Ensuring that the licensee complies with its requisite reporting obligations;
- Ensure annual training, provide advice and guidance to employees on subjects that relate to money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing;
- Receiving and maintaining records of SARs/STRs;
- Ensuring staff compliance with internal reporting and compliance manual procedures relating to money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing;
- All other functions as set out in the FSA Act, AML/CFT legislation and Codes.
Job Requirements
Skills Knowledge and Expertise:
- 3 to 5 years in a similar position or 2 years as assistant compliance officer in financial institution regulatory environment;
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements affecting companies and foundations in Seychelles;
- ICA/ACAMS/STEP or equivalent qualification required;
- Diploma, BSc or BA in Law, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration;
- Willing to take the lead in setting the tone for compliance culture;
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Good analytical and organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.
