Job Title: Dental Surgery Technician
Reports to: Senior Dental Surgery Technician
Job Description
Job purpose:
To provide chair-side support to dental operators, and managing the dental surgery for the smooth day-to-day running of the surgery.
Key outputs
- Dental surgery stocks ordered and monitored timely
- Materials and equipment for dental procedures prepared timely
- Patients’ record, results and dental work retrieved, sorted, dispatched, and collected timely
- Chair-side support to dental operators performed timely
- Dental surgery cleaned and organized
- Oral health promotion activities implemented
- Standards, protocols and guidelines implemented
Key functions
- Ordering and monitoring dental surgery stocks timely
- Monitoring, supporting and reassuring patients after dental procedures or during medical emergency in a timely manner
- Preparing materials and equipment for dental procedures timely
- Performing chair-side support to dental operators timely
- Compiling and submitting weekly dental statistics timely
- Pouring, casting and trimming study models timely
- Retrieving, sorting, dispatching and collecting patients’ records, results and dental work timely
- Taking and processing dental radiographs timely
- Implementing standards, protocols and guidelines
- Implementing oral health promotion activities
- Organizing and cleaning dental surgery
- Giving patients advice and follow up support

- Must have Advanced Certificate for Dental Surgery Assistants or its equivalent
