Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Director shall be directly responsible to the Director General for the operational management, coordination, and delivery of all activities relating to Diaspora Affairs. The post holder shall oversee the mobilisation, engagement, and integration of the Seychellois Diaspora into national development initiatives, and ensure effective liaison with domestic MDAs, foreign partners, and Seychellois communities abroad.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To supervise the operations of the Diaspora Section and report to the Director General on a regular basis.
- Conduct background research on diaspora issues, emerging trends, and relevant foreign policy developments.
- To coordinate the development, implementation, and review of diaspora-related policies, strategies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with national priorities.
- To engage with the Seychellois diaspora worldwide and maintain effective channels of communication to monitor progress, needs, and opportunities.
- To liaise with MDAs to ensure their active involvement in diaspora-focused initiatives and promote national understanding of the role of the diaspora in development.
- To lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive national database of Seychellois living abroad, including coordination with technical partners such as IOM.
- To undertake any other diaspora-related duties as assigned by the Director General.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- Master’s Degree in International Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Development Studies, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory work experience in diplomacy, international affairs, public administration, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanisms, frameworks, and procedures relevant to diaspora engagement, international cooperation, and community mobilisation.
- Good understanding of global diaspora trends and international best practices in diaspora policy and development.
