The National Sports Council is looking for a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the position of Director –Sports Science and Medical Unit.
As the Director for Sport Science and Medical, you will oversee and lead the development and implementation of Health services for athletes and sports science programs for athletes, coaches and sports organizations.
Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the sports science and medical unit, aligning with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
- Manage a team of professionals with expertise in physiotherapy, sports and exercise medicine, orthopedics, sports science, strength and conditioning and nursing.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of sports programs and medical services, in collaboration with the unit multidisciplinary team and their technical expertise. This includes fitness testing, performance analysis, pre-participation screening, injury prevention, medical treatment and rehabilitation.
- Organize the hiring and training of staff, coordinate the development of policies and procedures and ensure quality service delivery. Ensure all sports science and medical services and programs adhere to ethical and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders such as sports organizations and academic institution to promote the organizations sports science program and medical services.
- Manage the departmental budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet the program objectives.

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements & Other Pre-requisite
- Bachelor’s degree in leadership and/or management.
- Bachelor’s degree Sports Science.
- Knowledge of athlete health services and sports science principles, techniques, and equipment is required. Qualifications and experience in these areas is preferred-
- Minimum 5 years work experience in leadership and management
