Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing secure and timely driving services to transport passengers and goods to and from various destinations and the prompt delivery and collection of documents. Work for the well-being of staff by providing safe driving support and general administration and logistical work.

FUNCTIONAL

Driving duties

  • Perform driving duties relating to transportation of officers on official duties.
  • Ensure driving standards, passenger safety requirements, driver courtesy and punctuality are achieved.
  • Perform dispatch, collection and purchasing duties for the organisation.

Vehicle maintenance

  • Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and regularly service and that all road licenses and insurance are promptly paid
  • Inspection of vehicles and set up a service and maintenance schedule
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and properly refreshed at all times
  • Advise the supervisor of the serving date, renewal of road license and car insurance in respect of allocated vehicle(s).
  • Ensure that allocated vehicle is used correctly, adequately fuelled and any defects or malfunctions are reported on time.

Recording of mileage

  • Update and maintain daily log sheets, vehicle mileage sheet and dispatch book.
  • Assist with any other relevant duties discussed and agreed with the supervisor

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations of Seychelles.
  • An ability to write a concise and official report of incidents.
  • Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to read and write simple messages/ instructions
  • Must have good communication skills.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • S5 level of education with a pass in English.
  • A class 2, 4 & 6 driving license with minimum of two years driving experience.
