Post Title: Electricity Operator – Shift (Praslin and Mahé)

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant equipment as instructed by the Shift Supervisor.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor equipment and ensure a high standard of safety in and around equipment enclosures.
- Check monitors, gauges, dials, levels, and other indicators to ensure that equipment is operating properly.
- Check and maintain essential operating components in running machinery (oil, water, fuel, air, etc.).
- Adjust control switches on equipment as required.
- Collect, record, and review operational data from equipment.
- Report any abnormalities or defects to the Shift Supervisor.
- Keep machinery and the surrounding work environment clean and tidy.
- Respond to emergency call-outs in the event of equipment faults, when required.
- Participate in in-house training as and when required.
- Work according to assigned shift schedules.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Graduate from SIT School of Engineering
- Trade Test in Electromechanical Disciplines
- Ability to read and write basic English
- (Preferable) Possess a good working knowledge of operations of power stations, particularly plants operating on heavy fuels
- (Preferable) Have at least 2 years’ experience in the operations and/or maintenance of diesel fueled power stations
