Job Description
Summary of the duties and responsibilities.
- Assist the Master in the safe and efficient operation and navigation of the vessel.
- Maintain a safe bridge watch and comply with navigation, safety and operational procedures.
- Assist with vessel manoeuvring, berthing and unberthing operations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with maritime, safety and environmental regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate deck crew during routine operations and emergency situations.
- Conduct safety inspections and participate in emergency drills and exercises.
- Assist with the maintenance of navigational equipment, deck machinery and safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate vessel records, logs and required operational documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ISM requirements.
- Support the Master in ensuring the safety of passengers, crew and vessel at all times.

Minimum job entry requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- STCW-compliant Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) / First Officer, as applicable.
- Valid STCW mandatory training and certification.
- Valid medical fitness certificate for seafarers.
- Previous experience serving as a First Officer or in a similar deck officer position on passenger vessels/ferries.
- Sound knowledge of vessel navigation, bridge watchkeeping, safety procedures and maritime regulations.
- Experience in berthing, unberthing and passenger vessel operations will be an advantage.

- Strong knowledge of maritime safety and emergency procedures.

- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
