Job Summary

HADIP is a leadership role responsible for strategizing and planning for long-term airport development as well as managing the SAA’s infrastructure project management team (IPD) as well as planning and overseeing all SAA infrastructure projects. This individual plans for the budget requirements of the division and budget requirements for the capital development projects to be undertaken. This individual will report to the Chief Airport Development Officer.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement project management strategies, methodologies, and best practices. Partake in the airport master-planning and associated projects. Consolidate the Investment Plan from the airport infrastructure perspective.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the project management (IPD) team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all SAA infrastructure projects, as assigned by SAA leadership ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives. Deliver on self-assigned projects.
  • Budget: Prepare and manage annual budgets for the division as well as capital budget for projects to be undertaken. Ensure control over and correctness of project finances.
  • Human Resource: Plan for the division’s human resources needs and right staffing. Ensure efficient utilization of personnel and high performance. Motivate, monitor and appraise staff performance. Ensure acquisition and management of materials, tools and other assets required by the division.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintains clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures that projects meet established quality standards and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluates and improves project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering /Project Management/Business Administration or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in managing infrastructure projects with at least 5 years leading a project management division.
  • Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion
  • Familiarity with relevant methodologies and software.
