Job Description

Job Summary:

The Installation and Maintenance Technician installs the devices and hygiene units that Pestea places at client sites, and maintains all equipment used by Pestea technicians, so that field teams start each day with equipment that is safe, calibrated and serviceable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install rodent bait stations and monitoring points, insect light traps and electric fly units, and mosquito traps and monitoring devices at client sites, to the layout and specification issued for the contract.
• Survey each installation point before work starts, and report where the proposed position is unsuitable because of access, power supply, safety or client operations.
• Fix, number, label and secure every device, and record its position on the site plan so that it can be found, checked and audited.
• Carry out drilling, fixing and mounting without damage to structure, finishes or services, and make good before leaving.
• Relocate, replace or remove devices when site conditions or the client’s layout change, and update the site plan and register on the same day.
• Service, repair and test all application and monitoring equipment used by technicians, including sprayers, foggers, misting and ULV machines, dusters, pumps and battery-powered equipment.
• Maintain speciality equipment, including termite drilling and injection equipment, to the same schedule
• Keep a planned maintenance schedule and an equipment register recording each item, its service history, faults and date of retirement.
• Calibrate application equipment at the intervals set in the maintenance schedule, and record output so that application rates can be evidenced to clients and auditors.
• Respond to faults raised by Supervisors and technicians and in the weekly equipment check, return equipment to service before the next scheduled use.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Secondary school leaving certificate.
• Trade certificate or diploma in a mechanical, electrical or general maintenance discipline. Recognised pest control operator training is an advantage but not essential.
• Three years in equipment maintenance, installation or a related practical trade.
• Valid driving licence is essential. First aid certification is advisable.
