Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Lecturer – Plant Protection, Agricultural Chemistry, and Biosecurity provides instruction and practical training in crop protection, agricultural chemistry, and biosecurity systems, contributing to sustainable and safe agricultural production.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and practical courses in plant protection, agricultural chemistry, and biosecurity.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools in line with approved curricula.
- Conduct laboratory, field demonstrations, and applied learning activities.
- Supervise student projects and applied research activities.
- Participate in curriculum review and quality assurance processes.
- Utilize statistical tools and software in teaching and research.
- Submit academic and performance reports to the Deputy Director – Studies and Curriculum.
- Maintain updated records.
- Any other duties as stipulated by the Deputy Director – Studies and Curriculum
Benefits
Salary band: Band 5 – Band 6
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Plant Protection, Agricultural Chemistry, Crop Science, Biosecurity, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of lecturing experience or equivalent academic experience.
Additional Advantages
- Knowledge of SPSS, MINITAB, or similar statistical software.
- Experience in research planning and development.
