Job Description
Job Summary:
Perform journey level in installing, maintaining and repairing marine inboard and outboard gasoline engines and propulsion equipment. Maintain and repair fire pumps and other mechanical equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair marine gasoline and gas oil engines, outboards, pumps, transmissions, steering systems and other related equipment.
- Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of marine engines and equipment.
- Repair and maintenance of marine equipment including propellers, propeller shafts, rudders, reverse gears and winches.
- Overhauling and modifying marine gasoline engines and associated equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance and repair work.
- Perform custom modification to adapt new equipment to existing systems.
- Use various shop tools and test equipment.
- Diagnose electrical problems and determine proper repair method.
- Read, understand and follow oral instructions and written directives.
