Job Description

Title: Maritime Quality Assurance Manager

Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary

Lead, manage and act as internal auditor of the SMSA’s Quality Assurance Division, ensuring that all operations, inspections, surveys, and certification processes are conducted in strict compliance with Seychelles maritime legislation, IMO conventions, and recognized international quality standards (including ISO frameworks). Promulgating, reviewing and maintaining all internal processes and procedures under which SMSA operates.

The Maritime Quality Assurance Manager provides strategic oversight of the internal Quality Management System (QMS), driving continuous improvement and embedding a culture of accountability across the Authority. The role encompasses leadership in IMSAS and STCW audit preparations, coordination of SMSA’s annual ISO certification requirements, and effective liaison with the Auditor General to ensure transparency and compliance.

Benefits

Salary Band: SB5 plus allowances

Job Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirement

• Advanced Diploma in Maritime Studies, Quality Management, Business Management/ Administration or related field plus nine years relevant work experience; or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Quality Management, Business Management/ Administration or related field plus eight years relevant work experience; or
• Master’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Quality Management, Business Management/ Administration or related field plus ten years relevant work experience.
