Monitoring and Surveillance Analyst

Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Section

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the enforcement of approved standards of the AML/CFT Unit of the Financial Services Authority to ensure ongoing compliance of reporting entities, under the supervisory purview of the Financial Services Authority, with the provisions of AML/CFT laws, regulations and supervisory policies.

Summary of Duties:

  • Work in close collaboration with the AML/CFT Unit’s Manager and Director to ensure effective and efficient operations of the AML/CFT Unit.
  • Conduct risk-based AML/CFT supervision of reporting entities through on-site inspections/ examinations in accordance with the relevant AML/CFT legislation, regulations and policies.
  • Undertake off-site/desk-based supervision of reporting entities with the relevant AML/ CFT legislation and Regulations, and policies, to ensure compliance with the obligations/requirements and where necessary to recommend appropriate enforcement action.
  • Contribute to the review of the internal systems and controls of the AML/CFT Unit on a regular basis to ensure adherence with the regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Support the Unit in the receipt, review, and timely response to requests for regulatory assistance from foreign regulatory authorities for matters relating to the AML/CFT Unit.
  • Compile relevant statistical data as part of the on-site inspections and offsite monitoring of reporting entities and provide inputs on findings and recommendations, where necessary.

Job Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Degree in Law or Finance or Economics or Business Administration (and any related field); or
  • International Compliance Association – Certificate or Advance Certificate in AML; or
  • Minimum of two Years’ Experience in the related field.
  • Strong demonstrable ability to use Excel functionalities, including the use of macros, aggregation of data and use of formulas.
  • Demonstrable knowledge about the requirements of Seychelles AML/CFT Act and AML/CFT Regulations.
