Taylor Smith Naval Services Limited based at Providence Industrial Estate is seeking to recruit a knowledgeable person to occupy the above position.

Job Description

Operations Manager:

Responsible for oversight of the day-to-day activities of the Shipyard by providing effective and efficient management, administrative, and technical support working very closely with the Head of Shipyard Operations to achieve cost-effectiveness of operations.   Adhere to and manage production costs for each job including, but not limited to labor and material resources, production budget, and scheduling to ensure cost-effectiveness of services provided. Work closely with the Store Manager/Fuel Depot concerning stock replenishment, local or overseas orders, customs clearance, and related matters for timely delivery.  Perform quality controls on different aspects of the services/operations and monitor production KPIs – introduce KPIs if necessary.  The full job description is available upon request.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements and competencies include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or related industries, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
• An added advantage is having an excellent knowledge of shipyard work or mechanical workshop operations and detailed or specific knowledge of all aspects of the cognizant trade.
• Proven work experience as an operations Manager or similar role is an added advantage
