WASTEA (PTY) LTD is seeking to recruit a dynamic, committed and highly motivated candidate to fill the above position.

Job Description

As the Operations Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient functioning of the operations department by providing administrative assistance and coordinating office activities. You will be responsible for managing correspondence, organizing schedules, and facilitating communication between internal departments and clients. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the smooth operation of daily activities within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing full secretarial and administrative support to the Operations Manager (i.e., written correspondence, phone calls, appointments, minutes of meetings, maintaining contact lists, photocopies, filing, etc.)
  • Information-flow management for internal and external communications between Operations Manager and colleagues or clients.
  • Compiling background material (including basic data analysis); generating a variety of reports and statistical tables to support the other team members.
  • Receiving and dispatching communication by e-mail and telephone.
  • Input and update data in company databases and systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate reports and analyze data as needed to support decision-making and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and records.
  • Supporting the daily operational activities of the department
  • Coordinating administrative and logistical tasks to ensure smooth workflow
  • Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of operational processes and procedures
  • Preparing reports, maintaining records, and ensuring timely communication within the team
  • Providing support to management and other operational units as required
  • Timely update and communicating of attendance report
  • Assisting staff logistics and movement to and from outer islands

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & requirements

  • 3 – 5 years working experience in administration position.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of office IT applications.
  • Meticulous, pro-active with positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems
  • Previous experience in administrative or operational support roles will be an advantage
