ACCS is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Prevention Officer (x2).

Job Description

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Prevention Manager, the selected candidate will perform a variety of technical duties to support the Unit in the delivery of corruption prevention programmes.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To prepare and deliver talks, lectures and facilitate seminars for the education of the public against the evils and the avoidance of corruption.
  • To prepare communication materials and to ensure dissemination of same for fostering public support in combating corruption and for instilling awareness in eradicating corruption
  • To educate children and the youth on reinforcing values like honesty and integrity
  • To communicate the channels of complaints and enquiries to the public.
  • Conduct Corruption Risk Assessment/inspection and report on any weaknesses in systems, practices and procedures which are employed by Public Bodies, and posit remedial recommendations to solve current issues and benchmark standards for future improvements.
  • Liaise with assigned Public/Private institutions and provide accurate feedback and technical guidance as it relates to corrective measures, proposed policies and practices which will foster an environment and culture of anti-corruption and anti-bribery.
  • To prepare report on outcome of anti-corruption talks, lectures, seminars, and public awareness campaigns. Make recommendations of any relevant improvement needs.
  • Keeping abreast with developments in the field and related domain; and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Submit quarterly activities report to the Prevention Manager.
  • In the capacity of the role specific, represent the Commission in external meetings and committees as and when required.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is in accordance with the ethical, moral, and legal standards expected by all employees of ACCS.

Type of position: Permanent, full-time position

Job Requirement

Minimum requirements:

  • Post Secondary graduate from business and education related fields with a minimum of five years formal experience in dealing with the public in an education, enforcement, inspection, compliance, investigation, or customer service capacity

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Have an understanding of the Anti-Corruption Act 2016 (as amended), AML Act 2020 and other related legislation applicable to financial and economic crimes, with a focus on corruption, illicit financial flows and money laundering.
  • A degree in relevant field with minimum 3 years working experience. Preferred major fields of study are Business administration, Education, Compliance and Enforcement Professional Qualifications
  • Be experienced in the delivery of education programmes

Work conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting

  • Required to conduct external presentations or represent the organisation in Court.

Working hours per week: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
